John Medina: Artist, Designer, Taco Enthusiast
My name is John Medina. I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas; the hometown of Whataburger and Selena. Currently I live and work in San Antonio as an artist, designer and educator. Alamo Basement is my creative studio where I get to have fun and experiment with different types of art and design for my own brand as well as for clients big and small. My work is inspired by Mexican folklore, Texas history, urban legends, cryptozoology, quantum physics, religious iconography, cultural traditions, science fiction, comic books, “gangsta” rap, breakfast tacos and drunken story-telling. I work together with my wife, Colleen and our studio pup, Hugo "Thunderfoot" Reyes. Whether it's custom apparel, hand-made prints, hand-printed patches, stickers or enamel pins, one thing is for sure. You never know what you're gonna find in the Alamo Basement.
